The Concept is Born From Experience
Most
backups occur when you least expect them. Statistically most sewer
backups occur every 45 days to a year when resulting soap, grease, hair,
tree roots and paper products accumulate in a sewer line that has a
negative pitch, a dropped sewer line due to improper installation or
root infiltration. This is where inorganic matter is unfortunately
discarded through the toilets causing frequent and untimely back-ups.
There
are no current methods available that PREVENT, and we repeat, PREVENT
pipeline blockages from reoccurring and it is just a matter of time
before a blockage occurs. Again there has been some intervention by
pouring caustic liquids into a pipeline. Using sulphuric acid has
hazardous consequences. Sulphuric acid can back up into the face of a
technician (who is most likely not aware of the compound) working on the
pipeline. Another consequence is that the sulphuric acid will
eventually makes its way into the main sewer system thereby creating an
environmental problem.
There are
also serious backup problems within medical facilities, hospitals and
nursing homes, high rise apartment buildings, and even in office
buildings. No one wants a sewer back up or the problems associated with
it. When cleaning the blockage that spewed on flooring or rugs is when
our next problem comes into the picture. The problem of human contact
with hazardous material such as fecal matter, e-coli and other bacteria laden fluids.
Historically
there were three ways of cleaning out a blocked line. First, as we
motioned earlier with the sulphuric acid. Then there are vac-trucks are
jets to clean the pipes. Also most incidents you will call a sewer
pipeline cleaning company. Who will then dispatch a truck equipped with
an automatic gas or electric snake that is inserted into the pipeline
from the location of the trap. Which is then ran through the pipe to
clear out the blockage.
What most people don't know is that using a power snake in a pipeline does not necessarily eliminate grease blockage problem. It
is well known fact that when the snake winds itself through trapped
grease and then retreats that the grease closes around the hole that was
just snaked. The grease and soap blockage situation was not cured by
any stretch of the imagination and only exacerbates the problem and
doesn't eliminate it. Then it is just a matter of time before your sewer is backed up or your drains are clogged.
We
know instances where a major pharmaceutical company was shut down by
the Federal Drug Administration during a pipeline blockage for
contamination of the inline product. Not only did the pharmaceutical
company have to shut down their entire operation and dismantle an in
ordinance amount of piping to clean the lines, but lost three months
production and millions of dollars in income due to the blockage and
shutdown.
